About the product

Vík Prjónsdóttir has designed a Sun Hat for each month of the year, launching the first four now, Mai, June, July and August. The classic design of the traditional woolen sailor cap was built for practicality and warmth. Knitted from 100% lambswool, Sun Hats retain those qualities to create a range of comfortable and hardy winter hats. Inspired by the intense colours of the midnight sun, and the moments between day and night, they help you carry warmth and light wherever you go.

The material

The Arctic Sunhat is the result of a new collaboration between Vík Prjónsdóttír and the German knitwear factory strickchic. The factory's use of cutting edge technology makes it one of Germany's highest profile knitwear production centres, with a dramatic story going back well over 100 years. For this product, we use lambswool, originating with the family run Z.Hincliffe & sons in Yorkshire, England, who have been in operation since 1766. Lambswool is taken from the first shearing of the sheep, creating a soft, elastic yarn that is used in creating high-grade textiles.
